Surveying Imagine Bicycle Lanes on Middle Ring Roads

Thai Cycling for Health Association (TCHA) will hold bicycle trips every Sundays in September 2012 as Car Free Day Campaigning Activities.

TCHA have been surveying imagine bicycle lanes on Middle Ring Roads every year and found that some parts of the roads are wide enough to have bicycle lanes and footbridges over Middle Ring Roads should have ramp. These will facilitate the cyclists.

We will survey this imagine bicycle lanes again and push our dreams to come true.

Trip Schedule :
7.00 am Meeting Point at Rod Fai Park (Railway Park)
(Railway Park is located next to Chatuchak Park, on Kamphengphet 3 Road)
7.30 am Discussion about Safety and Healthy to Cycle and Bicycle Lane
8.30 am Starting survey trip
12.00 noon Return to Railway Park and discuss how to make the bicycle lanes actually happen

Railway Park – Viphawadee Rangsit – Ratchadapisek Road – Rama 7 Bridge – Charan Sanitwong – Krungthep Bridge – Rama 3 Road – Benjakitti Park – Rama 9 Road – Railway Park

Bangkok Car Free Day 2012

Car Free Day is an international event celebrated every 22nd September in which people are encouraged to get around without cars and instead ride a train, bus, bicycle or walk. All this is to help highlight the pollution caused by cars, not just the fumes but the whole cycle of waste and disruption, the noise, delayed journeys, the whole misery caused by traffic congestion and car pollution.

TCHA would like to invite everyone to join Car Free Day Campaigning Event in Bangkok and Bangkok Metropolitan.

Schedule :
6.00 – 6.30 am Registration at 14 gathering places in Bangkok and Bangkok Metropolitan
Cycle to Royal Plaza

8.00 am Cyclist at Royal Plaza will sing National Anthem together all over Thailand

8.30 am Start cycling parade in Thai national flag colour form via Borommaratchachonnani Road to Lumpini

10.00 am Opening ceremony by a BMA representative
Silom and Sathorn Roads will be closed to be car free roads
Measure air pollution
Cycle around Lumpini Park

12.00 noon Lunch
Exhibition

3.00 pm End
