Montague SwissBike LX SE Vouwfiets Mountainbike (brand new)

Hi,

sorry that I am writing in English.. but my Dutch is still very basic.
I am selling my foldable full size Montague "Swiss Bike LX SE" mountain bike (You can Google it easily for additional photos and information!). I bought it last summer in the UK, I have the original receipt, should still have warranty. You can also have the original cardboard box, if you like. And I only rode about 25kms on it.. unfortunately I am too tall (190cm) w/ too long arms to ride very comfortably on it for longer distances. You should keep that in mind - I think, the bike is probably suitable best if you're not taller than 185cm.

It's the Second Edition (SE) LX bike in frame size 20" that has front AND rear disc brakes (normal version only has rear disc brakes) and a Rock Shox front suspension. You can lock it out for more speed on the road, nice feature. I am selling it with the following ADDITIONAL accessories, also all brand new:

- original Montague Neoprene frame cover to prevent scratches
- Topeak DeFender M1 rear mud guard
- Bottle cage
- Blackburn rear and front lamps
- Ciclosport CicloMaster 4.2 (wireless speedometer)
- original Montague Soft Carry Case
- adjustable propstand
- Peakini mini-pump
- Peakini Mini Multitool
- Ergon GP1 carbon grips (value ~70 EUR; I also still have the original Montague grips)
- unused Flat-Fix kit

All the accessories are from good brands and fit the bike nicely.

This is the original product information and the technical specifications:

---
In 1997, under a grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Montague partnered with the US Marines to develop the Tactical Electric No Signature (TENS) Mountain Bike. For this project, Montague developed a new folding frame design called the X-Series™, integrating the F.I.T.™ system into the frame design. The non-electric version of the TENS Mountain Bike, named The Paratrooper®, became available shortly thereafter.

The F.I.T.™(Folding Integrated Technology) system was developed to allow a full-size, high-performance mountain bike to fold in half so that it could fit through the cargo door of a military aircraft with a paratrooper. When the soldier would hit the ground, he or she would have a tactical mountain bike to use as transportation, thereby bridging the gap between walking and deploying heavy military vehicles. This would not only aid in transportation but it would help to facilitate battlefield reporting as well.

Today, the SwissBike™ uses the same X-Series™ frame developed for military use, and provides the general public with a full-size bike with the strength to handle any terrain under load and the finesse necessary to quickly fold to fit where needed.

The Limited Edition Swissbike LX has the upgrade of Rock Shox Dart 3 front suspension fork with rebound control and lockout. The bike now benefits from Disc Brake front and rear, replaceable rear derailleur hanger.

One of the key advantages of the Montague folding bikes is that they all use standard conventional mountain bike wheels and components and are therefore serviceable at any bike shop.

The foundation of all the Montague bikes is their award winning, patented folding frame design, Folding Integrated Technology. F.I.T.™ utilizes the seat tube as the pivot point frame, secured by a quick release lever, which allows the front frame to pivot around and fold neatly into the rear frame. Unlike other folding bikes on the market that sever frame tubes to accomplish folding, no tubes are cut or altered on their bikes, giving you rock solid performance.

Industry standard components mean maintenance is as simple and convenient as it would be with a conventional bike. Quickly folding down to a compact 3' X 3' X 1', without the use of tools, they can be conveniently stored in a car, boat, plane, office, or cupboard.

Montague bikes can be taken as stored luggage on commercial airplane flights, trains and buses.

All Montague bikes feature the CLIX™ Wheel Release System to ensure that removing and installing your front wheel is as easy as possbile. With CLIX, the front wheel clicks into place with the flick of a lever.

The CLIX bicycle wheel release system, winner of a Eurobike Design Award, is an innovative quick release system that makes taking your bikes front wheel on and off faster, easier and more intuitive.

The development of this new technology was inspired by the frequent misuse of the traditional quick release system. Bicycles with the CLIX QR from CLIX Systems, Inc. are revolutionizing the cycling industry from the casual rider to the performance racer.

I paid 849,00 British Pounds for the bike.. so together with all the accessories it has a value of roughly 1.200 EUR.

I can't really use it - and I could use some extra money because I am moving into a new apartment shortly.. so I am willing to sell it for 750 EUR, which is more than 400 EUR less than the actual value of the package. Nice bargain, huh? :)

Like I mentioned before, I only rode the bike for about 25kms (with the frame cover on), it always has been stored in my living room and I can't see any scratches or anything and I would say it's still brand new.

I live in Amsterdam-Geuzenveld close to the N200.. and the bike has to be picked up at my address. I won't send it anywhere in a packet, I don't want to take any risk of damages.

Please drop me a mail if you have any questions or if you're interested in buying the bike. :)
