Bangkok is groot. Openbaar vervoermogelijkheid hangt er vanaf waar je hotel is. Ik zou via het hotel vervoer laten regelen. Kost iets meer, maar je hoeft op de luchthaven niet eerst je fiets rijvaardig te maken en je banden op te pompen. Je neemt je fiets gewoon mee op de bagagekar naar de uitgang. Daar staat als het goed is een chauffeur met jouw naambordje omhoog. Je fiets gaat in het busje. Je kunt in het hotel even bijkomen van de lange vliegreis en later in alle rust je fiets rijklaat maken.

Heb je ook namen van hotels die ook fietsen mee nemen of doen bijna alle hotel dit als je maar genoeg geld schuif?

Wij hebben vorige keer via Asiatravel.com een busje geregeld. We werden keurig opgewacht en de 2 fietsen in doos pasten er (weliswaar krap) in. Afgezet bij hotel in centrum - heerlijk na zo'n lange vlucht. Kosten EUR 19

Ik ben verleden jaar een keer of vier met de fiets in bangkok geland.
wat ik doe is in de aankomsthal de lift naar boven, naar de vertrekhal nemen, waar je veel makkelijker een taxi vind die je voor een normale prijs (300 baht) naar het centrum brengt. Ik heb het twee keer geprobeerd vanuit de aankomsthal, en daar vroegen ze steeds tussen de 600 en 1000 baht. Een fiets verpakt in fietsdoos past juist op de achterban van de toyota, soms is het wat wringen. Neem een ouder model, die zijn blijkbaar enkele cm breder binnenin, en die zijn cruciaal

Je kan ook gewoon je fiets op de airportbus zetten voor 100 baht. Die rijdt tot BanLampu (democracy monment) en je zit midden tussen de hotelletjes.

Komende zomer wordt de nieuwe luchthaven van Bangkok in gebruik genomen. Zal het nodige veranderen.

Vanaf begin FEB zullen we in Azie gaan fietsen, na onze Zuid Amerika rit, en voor Bangkok zijn we alvast op zoek na een prima hotelletje, liefst inclusief airport pick-up.

Bangkok again considers bike routes

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is conducting surveys to build more bicycle trails to promote riding bikes and other environmentally friendly vehicles as part of a campaign to help fight global warming, Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin said Saturday.

Leading a large gathering of famous singers and actors, the Bangkok governor and a procession of assorted celebrities rode their bicycles through busy traffic from scenic Narathiwatratnakarin Road along Sathorn Road to Wireless Road and Lumpini Park as part of a campaign to urge Bangkokians to ride bicycles pass through the traffic and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to global warming.

The governor said that City Hall will build and map more bicycle routes to promote saving energy, the habit of healthful exercise, and visits to tourist sites along the bike trails.

The BMA also plans to boost the number of bicycle parking lots at elevated train stations and subway stations to encourage the public to use the metropolitan areas' expanding mass transit system, Governor Apirak said.

Ik zal eens bij mijn vrienden van de TCC (Thailand Cycling Club) navragen hoe serieus het allemaal is.
