Hoi,

* Getting on a train without having to dismantle and then reassemble your bike can be a great advantage; in order to travel by train with your bike attached, it is necessary that your bike is in no case longer than two meters; that all trains involved in the trip allow the transport of bicycles, and that you have validated the ticket for the bike before boarding. The transport of the mounted bike is never allowed on medium and long distance trains or on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca, Intercity and Intercity Night trains.
* Some trains have a dedicated compartment for transporting bicycles. When travelling in sleeping cars and couchettes, the bike must always be stored in the luggage compartment of the reserved compartment. In other cases, the bike should be placed in the luggage space or, if it is fully occupied, it should be placed in the vestibule, or in the corridor by hooking it to a fixed point available in the carriage, such as the handrail.
* Once you have purchased the special ticket to transport your bike, remember to validate it before boarding. You will then be able to transport your bike on the different trains in your travel schedule, throughout the 24-hour validity of your bike ticket.
* Als er geen fietsruimte is: You can make one of the two wheels detachable, buy a bag ready to carry it with you, or make one. The market, in fact, offers a wide selection of bags specifically designed to transport the bike, in the dimensions already provided to take it by train (80 x 110 x 45 cm), whether this is a regional train, an IntercityNotte or Intercity or one of the three Arrows, Frecciarossa, Frecciargento or Frecciabianca.

* On regional trains marked with the special symbol, and limited to available spaces, each passenger can take an assembled bicycle on board with them, by purchasing the bike surcharge, which is valid until 11:59 p.m. on the date indicated on the ticket or, alternatively, another second class single ticket.
* Train staff may not permit passengers to bring their bikes on board the train in the event that the transportation of your bike is deemed to be detrimental to the train service.
