Koga Miyata Randonneur v other bikes

goedemiddag! Looking to get into some cyclo-touring around Europe, probably no further afield, keen to get some feedback on Koga bikes, especially the Randonneur, although also interested in the 26" alu model. Not sure whether cro-Mo or alu better, much divided opinion on English websites! Probably looking to trailer rather than panniers. I know there are some touring manufacturers here in the UK (Roberts/Thorn/Orbit), any experiences?

hatelijk bedankt fur advies!!!javascript:emoticon(':)')

It might be a disappointment bicycle-psychlogy is not different abroad...

In the past I have cycled ten-thousands of miles on a Koga Randonneur. Even nowadays it is an excellent bike. Unless you tend to take some parts off the bike. The Randonneur is a very complete bike. Sometimes you're better off buying a so called custom built bicycle.
If you're going to use a trailer, I would recommend another bike because you pay for all the extra's on the Randonneur . And some extra's you probably don't need with a trailer.

gentlemen. many thanks.

Regarding bicycle v bike, Engilsh is not one of those languages with hard and fast rules, certainly "bike" can extend to cover motorbikes as Schlauch indicates, but can equally cover what are sometimes (erroneously) termed "pushbikes"!!!

I will keep the Randonneur on the short list for a while!

Happy cycling :-)
