Time to go home...

Now, the question is, is there anyone silly enough to want to do all or part of the trip with me?

The route I had in mind is something like the following:

Netherlands (Delft)
Germany
Czech Republic
Slovakia
Hungary
Romania
Bulgaria
Turkey
Georgia
Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan
China -> Hong Kong
Australia (Perth or Darwin)
Australia (NSW, close to Canberra)

My expectation is to take about 12 -> 15 months (no rush in other words), and to set off in March / April 2010.

Once this is complete then I'll return to NL and start planning the next trip I guess!

Even if you can't go, if you know of other people that are following a similar route next year, please let me know, it would be good to share experiences.

yes the trip is still on but it will now start in March 2011 instead. The route has evolved a bit too:
